Introducing Picturelife
Today, I'm excited to introduce Picturelife.

Two years ago, Charles Forman, Jacob DeHart and I started building Picturelife with a clear dream: all our photos should be safe and secure, in one place, accessible from anywhere, and seamless to backup.
We knew the challenge was tough. We knew other folks would try and deliver products in the same market. But nothing excited us more than to work on something that was so dearly needed and something so damn hard to get right.
I'm writing about Picturelife here for the first time for a number of reasons:
In part because today we're announcing support for video backup. It feels great to feel digitally whole, and have all these awesome moving memories at my finger tips, just like my photos.
But I've also waiting this long because we've just been so damn focused on building the product we promised to build in the first place.
One of the most exciting things about starting Picturelife with Charles and Jacob was a pact we made with each other the first day we met to plan things out. We agreed: we would only make stuff that was awesome. No half-assing anything.
Making something awesome is tough, and making a complex, feature-rich product is tougher. Photos and videos are incredibly important to people, and, unlike most web products I use and have made in the past, the content we're dealing with carries an importance to folks which is unmet by anything else they own.
Picturelife still has mountains to achieve. We've kept our promise that we'd build an amazing product, but we have a more important promise now: to build an ever-better product for our growing customer-base.
Lastly, I want to mention how proud I am of the team we've built. Joe, Chris, Keith, Chad, Trevor and Dan are awesome people who also love making awesome products. It's refreshing and inspiring to work with them.
In the weeks and months ahead, I'm going to be a lot more vocal about Picturelife -- the product, and the process of building it -- here on this blog. In the meantime, I'd love for you to go check out our product. We're proud of it, and think you'll really love it.
