One of the problems I see with RSS is it's name: RSS means "Really Simple Syndication." Any blogger knows this, but it's not the bloggers I'm worried about: I'm worried about my readers. You! Instead of RSS is should be called RSR, or Really Simple Reading, or Really Simple Receiving; or if it must be RSS, it could be called "Really Simple Subscription," though it doesn't then differentiate between email vs "RSS Readers," which is a whole other topic to get into.
