Great post. Nate was kind enough to give me a very similar run down when I moved here about 6 months ago. The tech meetups are awesome. This place is really friendly and welcoming to new people.

I want to add, if you're into the creative technology scene at all, get your ass on Tumblr. Most NY Tech creatives are on there.

very useful post man. i wish i read this about 9 months ago. ny tech scene is definitely much more developed and inter-connected than i originally thought.

I remember that map! Needs an update. Some companies have moved; others (e.g., pubsub) are dead; and there are so many more to add (blip.tv, pando, apartmenttherapy, etc.)!
