Clinton to visit Brandies University

Those of you who know me, know about my love for Brandeis University. It’s a place that matters a lot to me, and where I really took so much.
That being said, it excites me to learn that Bill Clinton will be speaking at Brandeis in early December, there to dedicate a new program at the Heller School named after Eli Segal - a great friend of Bill’s and the American People.
Below, find the press release from Brandeis. There, they link to
the official website for the visit. My favorite part is the last paragraph below. What a way to describe a lost friend (Segal graduated from Brandeis in 1964 and remained an active member of the University family until his death).
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton to visit Brandeis; will deliver lecture for new program named in memory of the late Eli Segal ‘64

WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 15, 2007 — Former U.S. President William Jefferson Clinton will visit the Brandeis University campus on Monday Dec. 3 to deliver the first lecture for the school’s new Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Program, Brandeis officials said today.

| Reinharz characterized Segal as a “passionate public servant and visionary activist who was a model for Brandeis students and young people everywhere.” |
“His genius for making things happen led to a lifetime of giving back – at the local, community and national levels,” said Reinharz. “Both AmeriCorps and the Welfare to Work Programs were created by Eli to give strength and independence to some of the more vulnerable members of American society – the poor and the young.
